I think by now you will know that I have a soft spot for senior portraits and who wouldn’t. Seriously these girls are stunning and it is so much easier to direct an eighteen year old to show me their true selves than it is a much younger child. The results amaze me each time. The senior year is a very important milestone, it is that time when you develop your own sense of self in a comfortable, familiar environment. You are becoming an adult but still have the familiarity of being at home and part of the family. It is a defining year and a time to really find out who you are and experiment with who you might want to become. In my experience my seniors want their senior portraits to capture that true spirit yet also be a lifelong memento of this important stage of their lives. Many of the seniors who have already had their portraits taken have commented that they have felt beautiful and the process was a little self esteem builder – now that got me to thinking. I want every single one of my seniors to come away from their session feeling that way. Alicia’s now offers a hair and makeup senior package to make sure that is the case. I never feel that a blog post is complete without some beautiful images – so as I never want to disappoint I present Miss “K”, a stunning senior at Neuqua Valley High School.
As you can see “K” was at ease in both the town and the country setting. “K” is a published, award winning artist and was a photographer’s dream. Her artistic flair shines through this set of images. Miss “K” aims to go to art school to study painting and fine arts, she is crossing her fingers to get into into Brown and dual RISD.
The world is at your feet Miss “K”, I am very confident that all of those hopes and dreams will come true. It was such a pleasure to meet you and create these senior portraits together.
