Well it has been a while since I have been on the blog – I’d love to say that I was busy traveling the world, relaxing on an exotic beach with a cocktail in my hand pre-5pm somewhere beautiful but the reality is that my wonderful clients have been keeping me so busy over the Summer, that it has come and gone in a flash and with it the opportunity to tan. Good news is that I prefer to be pale and busy anyway!
The early morning and evening weather is beginning to feel so much more like Fall. One of my absolute favorite seasons to photograph. If my schedule over the last few months is anything to go by I would suggest that if you do want some rich autumn colors in your portraits please call the studio to schedule your session as soon as possible. Our schedule is filling quickly and we really want to make sure that we can get you in for you holiday card sessions!
They say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy or in this case Jill a dull girl, so to avoid being dull, one of the highlights of the last month was the opportunity I had to attend a wonderful weekend with the world famous children’s photographer, Barb Uil of Jinky Art right in our own backyard, in Barrington, IL. Barb is well known for her unique, whimsical storytelling images capturing the magic of childhood through her lens. To meet her and be inspired by her was awesome, amazing, refreshing, revitalizing….. well, you get the idea. The icing on that very delicious cake was the other photographers who attended the workshop. These ladies were open, friendly, warm, honest, welcoming and encouraging – my new photography BFF’s. I can’t wait for a re-union weekend very soon. Las Vegas, ladies, here we come!

The shoots in Barrington were filled with Jinky goodness from start to finish, the light was amazing and the models were delightful, a photographers dream.

Swing me to the clouds! My daughter used to say that to her daddy every time they were at the playground. Boy would it be nice to have a location with a tire swing for children’s sessions here in Chicago. I will keep my eyes peeled!
These pictures sure bring back great memories of my boys hanging out in the hammock in our backyard. What a great place to do a photography session with boys!
Of course it wouldn’t be a true Jinky Art workshop without a beautiful white horse. How dreamy!
And of course we’ll top the horse by bringing a rooster into the sessions. I have to say that these pictures are some of my favorite. Any rooster owners here in the Naperville that would like to lend us a beautiful rooster for a fun barn session? OK…if you have the barn that would help too.
Sweet baby sessions are always a favorite of mine. Sometimes just keeping it simple just make my heart sing.
What an amazing weekend! Right now I’m busy editing all of my recent sessions to try and catch up. If you are patiently waiting for your photographs please know that we are doing everything we can here at the Studio to get these images to you as soon as possible. There are LOTS more blog images to come. You will see your families faces on here before you know it.
