This talented and beautiful dancer is the reason that we went to New York City when we did. Angie R was attending a Julliard dance program in July and we thought that meeting her there for her high school senior photographs would be amazing. Capturing her talent and beauty in camera was definitely the goal. I will say that she makes it very easy to do my job as a photographer. There is an ease to Angie that give her a confident look and feel when she’s dancing or in front of the camera.
Angie LOVES everything about New York so we tried to get as many looks and locations as possible. This shot infront of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is one that captures Angie’s personality to a T. A Strong, Powerful, performer.
Shooting in the streets of New York was the perfect urban look. It doesn’t get better than this city for giving you that grit, and beauty. Watch out or you just might find me moving to NYC forever. This city definitely stole my heart.
Taking our senior models on this trip to New York City made things so much easier with our hair and makeup, artist Delaney Johnson, in tow. She was up at the crack of dawn getting our high school senior models ready for their personal shoots. Thank goodness we had her on this trip! She pulled this whole NYC shoot together. I love the natural look and pink tones that she used in this shoot. It makes Angie’s eyes pop.

NYC has so much construction going on at all times that almost every building has scaffolding in front of it. So we decided to try to make lemons out of lemonade and just use the scaffolding to our advantage. Way to make these images work Angie!
The next stop was the subway. This was a first for me and I have to say that I love the editorial look that these images have. The fluorescent lights made it a bit challenging but with some changes to my camera settings we were in business.
Back above ground and in the middle of the busy streets is where I always seem to end up. Thank you Angie for obliging me!
